Aceh National Party
The Nanggroe Aceh Party ( id, Partai Nanggroe Aceh) is a regional political party in Indonesia. It was established as National Aceh Party (''Partai Nasional Aceh''), as a result of a split within the Aceh Party triggered by disagreements over the candidate for governor in the 2012 Aceh gubernatorial election. It was founded by Irwandi Yusuf, who was Aceh's governor between 2007 and 2012. The party qualified to contest the 2014 elections in Aceh, and won 4.7 percent of the vote, winning three seats in the provincial legislature. In 2017, the party changed its initial name with the "N" now means ''Nanggroe'' (Acehnese for ''land'') instead of ''Nasional''. Aceh Party
The Aceh Party ( id, Partai Aceh) is a regional political party in Indonesia. It contested the 2009 elections in the province of Aceh, and is the largest party in the People's Representative Council of Aceh, Aceh provincial legislature. History The Aceh Party was formerly known as GAM Party (''Partai GAM'') after the Free Aceh Movement (GAM), a separatist group that waged a Insurgency in Aceh, war for Aceh independence from 1976 to 2005. Many of the party's leaders were senior figures in GAM, including its chairman Muzakir Manaf, who was a former commander of GAM's military wing. 2009 elections The party stood in the Indonesian legislative election, 2009, 2009 elections in Aceh, and was predicted to win in at least 15 of Aceh's 21 regencies. Irwandi Yusuf
Irwandi Yusuf (ايرواندي يوسف; born 2 August 1960) is an Indonesian politician who was the Governor of Aceh. He was re-elected Governor in early 2017 after serving an earlier term between 2006 and 2012. Irwandi first won a term as governor in the 2006 Aceh regional election as an independent candidate (non-party). Muhammad Nazar, S. Ag. was his running mate in 2006. However Irwandi lost his 2012 re-election campaign to Zaini Abdullah following a strong challenge and intensive campaigning by other local political rivals. Allegations that he may have wrongfully granted land concessions involving previously protected high conservation value land to palm oil companies also surfaced before the campaign. People's Representative Council Of Aceh
The People's Representative Council of Aceh ( id, Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat Aceh, abbreviated to DPR Aceh or DPRA) is the unicameral regional legislature of the Indonesian province of Aceh. Unlike other regional legislatures in Indonesia in general, it has unique characteristics according to Act No. 11 of 2005 on Aceh Government; such as unique name, more council members (1¼ times more than ordinary regional legislatures), and include Aceh regional parties. South Aceh Regency
South Aceh Regency ( id, Kabupaten Aceh Selatan) is a regency in the Aceh special region of Indonesia. It is located on the west coast of the island of Sumatra. The regency covers an area of 4,173.82 square kilometres and had a population of 202,251 at the 2010 Census and 232,414 at the 2020 Census; the official estimate as at mid 2021 was 234,630.
