Andrzej Nowicki (philosopher)
Andrzej Rusław Fryderyk Nowicki ( Pol.) (b. 27 May 1919 in Warsaw – d. 1 December 2011 in Warsaw) was a Polish philosopher of culture, a specialist in the history of philosophy and of atheism, in Italian philosophy of the Renaissance and in religious studies and Grand Master of the Grand East of Poland and a connoisseur of the fine arts, poet and diplomat. In the years 1937–1939 he studied philosophy, psychology and Italian studies at the University of Warsaw. He resumed his studies in philosophy during the World War II in underground education. His teachers were, among others: Tadeusz Kotarbiński, Władysław Tatarkiewicz, Władysław Witwicki. Nowicki conceived his own philosophical system which he called "the ergantropic and incontrological ( pl, ergantropijno-inkontrologiczny) philosophical system of meetings within things". Tadeusz Kotarbiński
Tadeusz Marian Kotarbiński (; 31 March 1886 – 3 October 1981) was a Polish philosopher, logician and ethicist. A pupil of Kazimierz Twardowski, he was one of the most representative figures of the Lwów–Warsaw School, and a member of the Polish Academy of Learning (PAU) as well as the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN). He developed philosophical theory called '' reism'' ( pl, reizm) and an ethical system called independent ethics. Kotarbiński also contributed significantly to the development of praxeology. Henryk Greniewski and Kazimierz Pasenkiewicz were doctoral students under Kotarbiński. The Grand Orient of Poland (Polish: ''Wielki Wschód Polski'') is a Masonic grand lodge in Poland. It is a member of the European Masonic Association (EMA/AME), in the continental or liberal branch of Freemasonry. Grand Orient of Poland was established on February 26, 1784 on the basis of a patent granted by the Grand Orient of France. In its first phase of his functioning, it was active until the beginning of the 19th century, when Freemasonry in the Polish lands occupied by Russia (under Russian partition) at that time was forbidden by the Russian Tsar.
