Amaad Rivera-Wagner
Amaad Rivera-Wagner (born December 1981) is an American community organizer and Democratic Party (United States), Democratic politician from Green Bay, Wisconsin. He is a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly, representing Wisconsin's 90th Assembly district since 107th Wisconsin Legislature, 2025. He has served as chief of staff to Green Bay mayor Eric Genrich since 2021, and managed Genrich's 2023 re-election campaign. Earlier in his career, he was the first openly gay member of the City Council of Springfield, Massachusetts, served as a policy advisor to United States senator Ed Markey (D–MA), and ran for Massachusetts Senate. After the 2020 United States presidential election, Rivera-Wagner was a target of Republican attacks and conspiracy theories due to his logistical role supporting the central count of Green Bay's absentee ballots in that election. The 90th Assembly district of Wisconsin is one of 99 districts in the Wisconsin State Assembly. Located in northeastern Wisconsin, the district comprises the east side of the city of Green Bay, Wisconsin, in central Brown County, Wisconsin, Brown County. Eric Genrich ( ; born October 8, 1979) is an American politician who has served as the mayor of Green Bay, Wisconsin, since 2019. Genrich previously represented Green Bay in the Wisconsin State Assembly from 2013 until 2019. Early life and education Born in Green Bay, Wisconsin, Genrich graduated from Notre Dame Academy in 1998. He went on to attend the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where he majored in history and sociology, earning his bachelor's degree in 2002. He earned a Master of Library and Information Science from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee in 2010. Murder Of George Floyd
On May 25, 2020, George Floyd, a 46-year-old Black American man, was murdered in Minneapolis by Derek Chauvin, a 44-year-old White police officer. Floyd had been arrested after a store clerk reported that he made a purchase using a counterfeit $20 bill. Chauvin knelt on Floyd's neck for over nine minutes while Floyd was handcuffed and lying face-down in a street. Two other police officers, J. March for Our Lives (MFOL) is a student-led organization which leads demonstrations in support of gun control legislation.
