He later pursued a Master of Public Administration concentration in Public Management at ENAP. In the 2003 Quebec general election, he was elected a Member of Parliament to the National Assembly of Quebec in Berthier under the banner of the Parti Québécois. His predecessor was Marie Grégoire. Marie Grégoire (born August 15, 1965) was the Action démocratique du Québec Member of the National Assembly of Quebec, Canada, for the electoral district of Berthier from 2002 to 2003. Grégoire was first elected to the National Assembly in a by-election held on June 17, 2002 with 51% of the vote. Parti Québécois (PQ) star candidate David Levine finished second with 28% of the vote. In the 2003 election, Grégoire finished second with 32% of the vote, behind PQ candidate Alexandre Bourdeau (35%). A CEGEP ( or ; ), also written cégep, CÉGEP and cegep, is a publicly funded college providing technical, academic, vocational or a mix of programs; they are exclusive to the province of Quebec's education system. A loanword from French, it originates from the French acronym for , sometimes known in English as a "General and Vocational College"—it is now considered a word in itself. Although all colleges in Quebec are colloquially referred to as CEGEPs, only public colleges are officially referred to by that name. 2007 Quebec General Election
The 2007 Quebec general election was held in the Canadian province of Quebec on March 26, 2007 to elect members of the 38th National Assembly of Quebec. The Quebec Liberal Party led by Premier Jean Charest managed to win a plurality of seats, but were reduced to a minority government, Quebec's first in 129 years, since the 1878 general election. The Action démocratique du Québec, in a major breakthrough, became the official opposition. The Parti Québécois was relegated to third-party status for the first time since the 1973 election. François Benjamin
François Benjamin (born April 18, 1962) is a Canadian politician in Quebec. He was an Action démocratique du Québec (ADQ) Member of the National Assembly for the electoral district of Berthier from 2007 to 2008. Benjamin was born in Montreal, Quebec. From 1999 until his election as MNA, he served as mayor of Mandeville and was the prefect for D'Autray Regional County Municipality.
