Adelina Gavrilă (born 26 November 1978 in Brăila) is a Romanian triple jumper. She was a bronze medalist at the 1996 World Junior Championships. In 1998 she broke the 14-metre barrier for the first time, with 14.53 metres. In 1999 she improved to 14.71 metres. She won the bronze medal at the 1999 Universiade, finished twelfth at the 1999 World Indoor Championships, eleventh at the 1999 World Championships, eighth at the 2001 World Indoor Championships and at the 2001 Universiade. "Las Trece Rosas" (the ''Thirteen Roses'') is the name given in Spain to a group of thirteen young women who were executed by a Francoist firing squad on 5 August 1939, just after the conclusion of the Spanish Civil War. Adelina Garcia (December 16, 1923 – 1999) was a Mexican-American or Chicana singer. She remains one of the most famous American singers of the ''bolero''. Biography Adelina Garcia was born in December 1923 in Phoenix, Arizona and moved as a child to Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico, where she first expressed interest in becoming a singer. Garcia spent most of her early childhood in that northern Mexican city, where she started to become famous by singing boleros at the XEP radio station. By the time she had reached her teenage years, she was well known across Chihuahua and other northern Mexican states. Adelina Ethel Dematti de Alaye (June 5, 1927 – May 24, 2016) was an Argentine human rights activist who co-founded the Mothers of the Plaza de Mayo, an organization of mothers whose children disappeared during the Dirty War of the 1970s and early 1980s. She became known as "la madre fotógrafa," or "the mother photographer," for her documentation of the Argentine dictatorship and the Mothers of the Plaza de Mayo through her photography. Her collection was later declared a "Memory of the World" by UNESCO.
