Robert Newman Addison (18 July 1908 – 8 March 1988) was an Australian rules footballer who played one game for the Footscray Football Club in the Victorian Football League (VFL) in 1931. Family The son of Robert Addison (1883-1954), and Elizabeth Jane Addison (1890-1976), née Bridges, Robert Newman Addison was born at Newport, Victoria on 18 July 1908. Derek Addison (born 8 July 1955 in Dundee) is a Scottish former footballer who played as a midfielder. A former pupil of Harris Academy, Addison was briefly attached to Hibernian aged 16 before returning to his native Tayside. After a season playing with Junior side Lochee United he signed for Jim McLean's Dundee United. Considered part of the club's move towards home-grown players, he broke into the first team at the same time as John Holt and Ray Stewart and Billy Kirkwood. Corran Descy Addison (born February 6, 1969, in South Africa) is a slalom canoeist, whitewater kayaker, surfer and surfboard designer. He is now based in Montreal, Quebec. Beginnings Addison began kayaking in South Africa in the mid-1970s. Introduced by his father to the sport, they would construct the fiberglass kayaks they needed to paddle the rivers in the basement of Rhodes University where his father Graeme Addison was a professor of journalism. Colin Addison (born 18 May 1940) is an English former professional footballer and manager. Born in Taunton, Somerset, Addison started his playing career with York City before moving to Nottingham Forest, Arsenal and Sheffield United. His managerial career started when he took the post of player-manager of Hereford United in 1971 during their famous 1971–72 FA Cup run, which saw them defeat Newcastle United. Christopher Addison, 1st Viscount Addison, (19 June 1869 – 11 December 1951), was a British medical doctor and politician. A member of the Liberal and Labour parties, he served as Minister of Munitions during the First World War and was later Minister of Health under David Lloyd George and Leader of the House of Lords under Clement Attlee. He was a prominent anatomist and perhaps the most eminent doctor ever to enter the Commons. He was a leader in issues of health, wartime munitions, housing and agriculture.
