Derek Addison
Derek Addison (born 8 July 1955 in Dundee) is a Scottish former footballer who played as a midfielder. A former pupil of Harris Academy, Addison was briefly attached to Hibernian aged 16 before returning to his native Tayside. After a season playing with Junior side Lochee United he signed for Jim McLean's Dundee United. Considered part of the club's move towards home-grown players, he broke into the first team at the same time as John Holt and Ray Stewart and Billy Kirkwood. However, he was unable to establish himself as a regular in the side: in his eight seasons at Tannadice he only once made more than twenty league starts. Addison signed for recently relegated Hearts in September 1981, along with former international striker Willie Pettigrew, in a deal worth almost £200,000. John Holt (footballer, Born 1956)
John Holt (born 21 November 1956) is a Scottish football coach and retired footballer. He played at either full-back or in midfield. He began his career with Dundee United, where he made more than 400 appearances between 1974 and 1987. Holt won three major domestic trophies with the club, the Scottish League Cup in 1979 and 1980 and the Premier Division title in 1983. He also featured for United in many European runs including to the 1983–84 European Cup semi final and the 1987 UEFA Cup Final. He also played for Dunfermline Athletic, Dundee and Forfar Athletic before becoming player-manager at Deveronvale and then Montrose. He has also managed Celtic Ladies as well as holding coaching roles at Forfar, Dundee and Dundee United. Holt also had a short period as caretaker manager of Montrose in 2016. Perth (Scottish English, locally: ; gd, Peairt ) is a city in central Scotland, on the banks of the River Tay. The Scottish Football League First Division was the second tier in the Scottish football league system between 1975 and 2013. History The First Division was introduced in 1975–76 to replace the old Scottish Football League Division Two, as the top flight of the Scottish Football League was renamed from Division One to Premier Division. In 1998, the Premier Division clubs broke away from the Scottish Football League to form the Scottish Premier League. Willie Pettigrew
William Haddow Pettigrew (born 2 October 1953) is a Scottish former footballer, who played as a striker for Motherwell, Dundee United, Hearts, Morton and Hamilton Academical. Pettigrew also represented Scotland and the Scottish League XI. Club career Pettigrew started his career with Hibernian, but left them for junior club East Kilbride Thistle after failing to make a first-team breakthrough. He joined Motherwell in 1972, where he had his most prolific goalscoring spell, averaging better than a goal every two league games. He ended the 1975–76 season as the highest scorer in the Scottish Premier Division at the age of 22. He repeated the feat when two years later in 1977–78. In 2019 it was announced that Pettigrew was to be inducted into the Motherwell F.C. Hall of Fame. In 1979, Dundee United purchased Pettigrew for £100,000.
