2009 TSC Stores Tankard
The 2009 TSC Stores Tankard was the 2009 edition of the Ontario provincial men's curling tournament. It was held on February 2-8 at the Woodstock District Community Complex in Woodstock, Ontario, Canada. The winning team represented Ontario at the 2009 Tim Hortons Brier in Calgary, Alberta (who ended the tournament second in the standings). Woodstock, Ontario
Woodstock is a city in Southwestern Ontario, Canada. The city has a population of 40,902 according to the 2016 Canadian census. Woodstock is the seat of Oxford County, at the head of the non-navigable Thames River, approximately 128 km from Toronto, and 43 km from London, Ontario. The city is known as the Dairy Capital of Canada and promotes itself as "The Friendly City". Woodstock was first settled by European-colonists and United Empire Loyalists in 1800, starting with Zacharias Burtch and Levi Luddington, and was incorporated as a town in 1851. Rich Moffatt
Richard Moffatt2017 Brier Media Guide: Previous Rosters (born 1959) is a Canadian curler from Ottawa, Ontario. In 1999, he became only the third curler to skip an Ottawa-area team at the Brier. Moffatt began curling in 1973 after quitting ice hockey. As a junior curler, he made it to the playoffs of the 1981 Ontario Junior Curling Championships. He played in his first Ontario men's championship in 1988 throwing third rocks for Rick Bachand. Moffatt skipped his own team for much of his career. In 1999, he finally won the Ontario men's championship, qualifying him for the 1999 Labatt Brier. At the Brier, his rink from the Rideau Curling Club finished with a 6-5 record. Moffatt retired from curling in 2007, but quickly changed his mind and came back to play for Bryan Cochrane. He played with Cochrane until 2012. Craig Kochan
Craig Kochan (born October 18, 1969 in Marathon, Ontario, Canada) is a Canadian curler from Toronto. He has played competitively in both Northern and southern Ontario and in the Yukon. As of 2019, he has won three Northern Ontario junior titles, the Yukon men's championship, a Northern Ontario mixed title and has played in seven Ontario provincial championships, two Northern Ontario provincial championships and two Yukon championships. Career Juniors Kochan's junior career involved winning the Northern Ontario junior title three years straight in 1987, 1988 and 1989. This qualified him to represent Northern Ontario at the Canadian Junior Curling Championships each of those years. At the 1987 Canadian Juniors, Kochan and his rink of Craig Cordiner, Andy Davis and Mike Desilets finished the round robin with a 6-5 record, missing the playoffs. Joe Frans
Joseph Mark Frans (born July 1, 1975 in Grimsby, Ontario) is a Canadian curler from Guelph, Ontario. Frans is most notable for being a two-time provincial champion and for being suspended from competitive curling for cocaine usage. Career Frans obtained fame as a curler in 1991, when he won the provincial school boys championship and the provincial junior mixed championship while curling in Smiths Falls, Ontario. In 1993, Frans won the provincial junior championship while playing in St. Catharines, Ontario. At the 1993 Canadian Junior Curling Championships, his team would finish with a 6-5 record. In 1994, Frans would win a second straight provincial championship, this time with Bradford, Ontario. At the 1994 Canadian Junior Curling Championships, he skipped the Ontario team to a 4th place finish (7-4 record), just out of the playoffs.
