2025 Allsvenskan
The 2025 Allsvenskan is the 101st season since its establishment in 1924 of Sweden's top-level football league, Allsvenskan. The season began on 29 March 2025 and is intended to end on 9 November 2025 (not including relegation play-off matches). Teams The league consists of sixteen teams; the top fourteen sides from the previous season, and two teams promoted from the 2024 Superettan. The promoted teams were Degerfors IF (promoted after a single year absence) and Östers IF (promoted after a 11 years absence), replacing the Allsvenskan relegated teams of Kalmar FF (relegated after 21 years in top flight) and Västerås SK (relegated after a single year in top flight). Malmö FF entered the season as defending champions. Allsvenskan (; ), also known as Fotbollsallsvenskan (, ) is a professional association football league in Sweden and the highest level of the Swedish football league system. Founded in 1924, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with Superettan, the second highest league in the Swedish football, Swedish men's football league system. Seasons run from late March or early April to the beginning of November, with the 16 clubs all meeting each other twice, resulting in a 30-match season, for a total of 240 matches league-wide. Allsvenskan is ranked 23rd in the UEFA coefficients of leagues based on performances in European competitions over the last five years. Allsvenskan is currently ranked third highest among the leagues in Scandinavia, after UEFA coefficient#Current ranking, Norway and Denmark. Kalmar Fotbollförening, more commonly known as Kalmar FF, is a Swedish professional football club based in Kalmar, Sweden. The club is affiliated to Smålands Fotbollförbund and play their home games at Guldfågeln Arena. Nationalarenan, known as Strawberry Arena since 2024 for sponsorship reasons, is a retractable roof multi-purpose stadium in Stockholm, Sweden. Located next to the lake Råstasjön in Solna, just north of the Stockholm City Centre, City Centre, it is the largest stadium in Scandinavia.
