Idrottsklubben Sirius, more commonly known as IK Sirius or Sirius, is a Swedish professional association football, football club located in Uppsala. The club is affiliated to the Upplands Fotbollförbund. History Founding The sports club that became IK Sirius was founded on 9 August 1907, and got its current name on 5 April 1908 after having been discussing Svartbäckens IK and IK Spurt. At the time, several sports club existed in the city of Uppsala: IFK Uppsala, IF Thor, IF Heimdal, and Upsala IF. The sports club was founded for sport of athletics, athletics, and took up association football, football in 1908. Studenternas IP
Studenternas IP is a multi-use stadium in Uppsala, Sweden and the home arena for the football club IK Sirius Fotboll on the men's side and IK Uppsala Fotboll on the women's and in bandy for IK Sirius in Elitserien and several other bandy teams. It was inaugurated on 21 March 1909. The summer arena has a total capacity of 10,522 spectators and the winter arena 4,700. The bandy finals were played here from 1991 until 2012. From 2018 until 2023, the finals were once again played at Studenternas. The arena has a much bigger capacity during that weekend, for example 25,560 spectators saw the 2010 men's final. The summer arena underwent a major upgrade between 2017 and 2020. The "new Studenternas" has a capacity of 10,522 spectators. Roland Grip
Bruno Roland Grip (1 January 1941 – 9 February 2024) was a Swedish footballer and manager. A defender, he played for AIK making his debut in Allsvenskan in 1964, and remained at the club until 1971 when he moved to IK Sirius. He played there until his retirement in 1975. Gary Sundgren
Kari Juhani "Gary" Sundgren (born 25 October 1967) is a Swedish former professional footballer who played as either a right back or a central defender. He played professionally with AIK and Zaragoza, in a 15-year career. A Swedish international for nearly a decade, he won a total of 30 caps and represented his country at UEFA Euro 2000. Club career Sundgren was born in Vammala, Finland, but moved to Sweden with his parents as a toddler, being raised in Västerås. There, he was often called Gary and it caught on, being addressed in the latter manner for the duration of his career. Pär Johan Millqvist (born 24 May 1967) is a Swedish former footballer who played as a right-back. Club career Millqvist represented Djurgårdens IF, IFK Göteborg, Örebro SK, Vasalunds IF, AIK, and IF Brommapojkarna during a career that spanned between 1986 and 1999. While at IFK Göteborg, he was a part of the Göteborg team that was crowned Swedish Champions in 1987. IF VP Uppsala, earlier called IF Vindhemspojkarna, is a Swedish football club located in Uppsala. Background The club started as a bandy club but branched out into many other sports. However, now all departments but the football has been terminated. Karl Magnus Pehrsson (born 25 May 1976) is a Swedish Association football, football manager and former professional player who is the Director of Football at Spanish club Vélez CF.
