The 2023 Interwetten European Darts Matchplay was the tenth of thirteen PDC European Tour events on the 2023 PDC Pro Tour. The tournament took place at the Trier Arena, Trier, Germany from 30 June–2 July 2023. It featured a field of 48 players and £175,000 in prize money, with £30,000 going to the winner. The defending champion was , who defeated 8–7 in the 2022 final. Humphries successfully defended his title after defeating Dirk van Duijvenbode 8–7 in the final, with van Duijvenbode missing four match darts. This was Humphries' fifth European Tour title. PDC European Tour
The PDC European Tour is a series of darts tournaments held across Europe organized by the Professional Darts Corporation. Starting in 2012 with five events, the number of events has steadily risen with eight held in 2013 and 2014, nine in 2015, 10 in 2016, 12 in 2017, 13 in both 2018 and 2019. There were 13 scheduled in 2020 (although that was reduced to four, owing to the COVID-19 pandemic). Only two events took place in 2021, with a return to 13 events in 2022, 2023 and 2024, then 14 in 2025. These events see the top players on the PDC Order of Merit and PDC ProTour Order of Merit compete against players from a tour card holder qualifier and three different regional qualifiers. The 2023 PDC Pro Tour was a series of non-televised darts tournaments organised by the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). Players Championships and European Tour events are the events that make up the Pro Tour. There were thirty Players Championship events and thirteen PDC European Tour events, as well as 24 events for the Challenge and Development Tours, and the Women's Series. Dirk van Duijvenbode (born 30 June 1992) is a Dutch professional darts player who competes in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events.
