2016 Aegon Open Nottingham
The 2016 Nottingham Open (known for sponsorship reasons as the Aegon Open Nottingham) was a combined men's and women's tennis tournament played on outdoor grass courts. It will be the 9th edition of the event for the women and the 21st edition for the men. It is classified as a WTA International tournament on the 2016 WTA Tour and as an ATP World Tour 250 series tournament on the 2016 ATP World Tour. The event will take place at the Nottingham Tennis Centre in Nottingham, United Kingdom from 6 June through 12 June 2016 for the women, and from 20 June through 25 June 2016 for the men. WTA International Tournaments
The WTA International tournaments was a category for tennis tournaments of the Women's Tennis Association from the 2009 WTA Tour until 2020, which replaced the previous Tier III and Tier IV categories. As of 2021 these events have been reclassified as WTA 250 tournaments. The winner of a WTA 250 tournament adds 250 points to her WTA ranking. For the 2025 WTA Tour, 2025 season, there were 20 WTA 250, all knock-out tournaments with a prize money for every event at $275,094. Ričardas Berankis (; born June 21, 1990) is a Lithuanian professional tennis player. He is the first and only Lithuanian to enter the Association of Tennis Professionals, ATP top 50 rankings, making him the highest ranked Lithuanian tennis player of all time. Berankis has reached two finals on the ATP World Tour, at the Los Angeles Open (tennis), Los Angeles Open in 2012 and at the Kremlin Cup in 2017. Gilles Müller (; born 9 May 1983) is a Luxembourgish former professional tennis player. He is a two-time major singles quarterfinalist, making him by far the most successful male tennis player in Luxembourgish history.
