The 1994 FIVB Volleyball World League was the fifth edition of the annual men's international volleyball tournament, played by 12 countries from 6 May to 30 July 1994. The Final Round was held in Milan, Italy. Andrea Giani
Andrea Giani (born 22 April 1970) is an Italian professional volleyball coach and former player who scored numerous successes in the 1990s, including three World Championships with his national team. He is considered one of the best volleyball players ever. He was an all-rounder able to play both as outside hitter and as middle blocker, but he played several times as opposite too. Career Giani’s father, Dario, was a rower who took part in the 1964 Summer Olympics for Italy. After having trained with the father, now a rowing coach, Andrea tried for brief period as a football player, in 1985 the 14-year-old Giani began his career as a volleyball player in the local team of Sabaudia, in the Southern Latium, where he lived. Soon news about his qualities spread and attracted attention from the two main volleyball club of Italy of the period: Panini Modena and Santal/Maxicono Parma. FIVB Volleyball World League
The FIVB Volleyball World League was an annual international men's volleyball competition. Created in 1990, it was the longest and richest of all the international events organized by the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB). The women's version of the competition was called FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix. This event should not be confused with the other international volleyball competitions, the FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship, World Championship, the FIVB Volleyball Men's World Cup, World Cup and the FIVB Volleyball World Grand Champions Cup, World Grand Champions Cup. Volleyball
Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. It has been a part of the official program of the Summer Olympic Games since Tokyo 1964. Beach volleyball was introduced to the programme at the Atlanta 1996. The adapted version of volleyball at the Summer Paralympic Games is sitting volleyball. The complete set of rules is extensive, but play essentially proceeds as follows: a player on one of the teams begins a 'rally' by serving the ball (tossing or releasing it and then hitting it with a hand or arm), from behind the back boundary line of the court, over the net, and into the receiving team's court. Forum Di Assago
Mediolanum Forum (originally the Forum di Assago, formerly the FilaForum and DatchForum) is an indoor sports arena that is located in Assago, a small town 3 km outside Milan, Italy. The arena has a seating capacity of 12,700 and is primarily used for basketball, ice hockey, tennis and live concerts. Kim Se-jin (volleyball)
Kim Se-jin ( ko, 김세진; born January 30, 1974) is a retired volleyball player from South Korea, who currently coaches the Ansan OK Savings Bank in V-League. As a player Kim competed with the South Korean national team from 1992 to 2003 and took part in the 1992, 1996 and 2000 Olympics. At the 1994 World League Kim was honored as best spiker with the 52.08% success percentage in attack (349 successful attacks for 670 attempts). Since 2013, he has been managing the Ansan OK Savings Bank volleyball team as head coach, winning the V-League twice in the 2014-15 and 2015–16 season. Lyubomir Eftimov Ganev ( bg, Любомир Ефтимов Ганев in Rousse), a.k.a. Lyubo Ganev or Lubo, is a Bulgarian former volleyball player. He was born in Rousse, where he started his career.
