1913 Campeonato Paulista
In the 1913 season of the Campeonato Paulista, two championships were disputed, each by a different league. APSA Championship Before the start of the 1913 championship, a split happened within the LPF - Paulistano left the league, uncomfortable with the growing inclusion of lower-class teams, like Ypiranga and the recently-joined Corinthians, in the league, in addition to the fact that the league moved its official playing field to the Parque da Antarctica Paulista (which was used by Germânia), in detriment of their own stadium, the Velódromo Paulistano, and was joined by AA das Palmeiras and Mackenzie. The new league would be called the APSA (Associação Paulista de Sports Athleticos). Paulistano won the title for the 3rd time. the top scorer position was shared by three players with 3 goals. The Campeonato Paulista Série A1, commonly known as Campeonato Paulista, nicknamed Paulistão, is the top-flight professional football league in the Brazilian state of São Paulo. Run by the FPF, the league is contested between 16 clubs and typically lasts from January to April. Rivalries amongst four of the best-known Brazilian teams (Corinthians, Palmeiras, Santos and São Paulo) have marked the history of the competition. Club Athletico Paulistano –generally known as just Paulistano– is a sports and social club from the Brazilian metropolis São Paulo located in the quarter of Jardim América, close to the city. The club was founded on 29 December 1900 for the purpose of playing association football. Its team was one of the early pioneers of the sport in Brazil and was considered the nationally leading side around 1920. Associação Atlética das Palmeiras, A. A. das Palmeiras or simply AA das Palmeiras was a football club based in São Paulo, Brazil. Founded on November 9, 1902, its colors were black and white. It was São Paulo champion of three times: 1909, 1910 and 1915. Their principal uniform had a white shirt with a black horizontal stripe, black shorts, and socks, similar to the traditional Paraguayan Club Olimpia uniform. The Palestra Itália Stadium ( pt, Estádio Palestra Itália), was a football stadium located in Barra Funda, São Paulo, standing on the site now occupied by the Allianz Parque stadium. It was the home ground of Sociedade Esportiva Palmeiras from 1917 to 2010, and was also known as Parque Antártica after Companhia Antarctica de Bebidas, a beverages company from which Palmeiras acquired the property in 1920. In the past its capacity was listed as 35,000 spectators, however, even though its grandstands have been extended in the late 1990s, the stadium had 27,650 seats due to regulations enforcing improved safety and comfort, before was demolished in November 2010.
