Bettembourg (; , ; , ) is a commune and town in southern Luxembourg. The country's eighth-most populous commune, it is part of the canton of Esch-sur-Alzette. , the town of Bettembourg, which lies in the east of the commune, has a population of 9,160. Other towns within the commune include Abweiler, Fennange, Huncherange, and Noertzange. The Parc Merveilleux children's amusement park is located just outside Bettembourg. The 1912 Summer Olympics (), officially known as the Games of the V Olympiad () and commonly known as Stockholm 1912, were an international multi-sport event held in Stockholm, Sweden, between 6 July and 22 July 1912. The opening ceremony was held on 6 July. Twenty-eight nations and 2,408 competitors, including 48 women, competed in 102 events in 14 sports.
