Production

Canadian National, the main sponsor of the Canada Pavilion, asked the NFB to produce a film about transportation in Canada, in keeping with the fair's theme “Transportation and Communications”. The film's computer animation sequence was produced by the Centre d'animatique unit of the NFB's French animation studio, credited to

''Transitions'' was projected on a screen at the pavilion's CN IMAX Theatre, to over 1.75 million people, during a six-month run.
