On October 25, 2020, Modafferi faced Danielle Kelly in the main event of Submission Hunter Pro 60 for the inaugural 130lbs no gi title and was submitted with a toehold. Modafferi was given the opportunity to challenge Amanda Loewen for the SUG absolute title at Submission Underground 21 on March 28, 2021.
