Romeo Vasquez was born in Tayabas, Quezon, and was the former husband of actress Amalia Fuentes. He was the father of actress Liezl (late wife of actor Albert Martinez). He had two other children in previous marriages: Luigi Sumilang () and Karla Sumilang ().
