Rai University was originally established by the Rai Foundation in 2002 in Chhattisgarh, one of 46 universities which were established through ''The Chhattisgarh Niji Kshetra Vishwavidyalaya (Sthapana aur Viniyaman) Adhiniyam, 2001'' within a year.
