FC Sochi was founded on 4 July 2018 after the relocation of FC Dynamo Saint Petersburg to

Since its creation, PFC Sochi plays at Fisht Olympic Stadium in Sochi. The stadium provides 40,000 seats to its spectators. The Federal Sport base "Yug Sport" was the training center in the beginning of the 2018–19 season.
