The 2024–25 Russian First League was the 33rd season of Russia's second-tier football league since the dissolution of the Soviet Union. The season began on 13 July 2024, and had a 3-month winter break between game weeks 21 and 22 (1 December 2024 to 1 March 2025). Russian First League
The Russian First League (, Pervaya liga), formerly called Russian First Division () and Russian Football National League (FNL) () is the second level of the Football in Russia#League system, Russian football league system. The Russian Professional Football League (PFL) used to run the division. Since 2011, it has been managed by the :ru:Футбольная Национальная Лига, Football National League. The league consists of 18 clubs. After each season the two top clubs are promoted to the Russian Premier League, Premier League, and the bottom three clubs are relegated to the Russian Second League, Second League. Third and fourth team play in home-and-away promotion play-offs against the 13th and 14th Premier League teams. 2023–24 Russian Second League Division A
The 2023–24 Russian Second League Division A was the 32nd season of Russia's third-tier football league since the dissolution of the Soviet Union. The season began on 16 July 2023 and ended on 16 June 2024. Overview Before the season, the Russian Second League was reorganized and split into two tiers - third-tier Russian Second League Division A and fourth-tier Russian Second League Division B. Division A consists of two groups of 10 teams each. FK Yenisey Krasnoyarsk (ФК Енисей Красноярск) is a Russian football club based in Krasnoyarsk, in Krasnoyarsk Krai. The club plays in the Russian First League. History The club was founded in 1937 as ''Lokomotiv Krasnoyarsk'' and spent one season in Class D of the Soviet league. In 1957 the club was re-formed and entered the ''Far East'' zone of Class B. In 1968 Lokomotiv was renamed ''Rassvet'' and, in 1970, ''Avtomobilist''. In 1991 it became ''Metallurg'', a title it held until February 2010 when it was renamed ''Metallurg-Yenisey'' (formally, Metallurg was excluded from the league and a new independent club Metallurg-Yenisey was admitted into the league). In 2011, the club was renamed to ''Yenisey''. The club is named after the Yenisei river, on which Krasnoyarsk is located. KAMAZ () is a Russian Association football, football football club, club based in Naberezhnye Chelny, Russia. The club plays in the second-tier Russian First League. Colours are (Home) all white. FC Akron Tolyatti () is a Russian professional football club based in Tolyatti founded in 2018 who play in the Russian Premier League. History In June 2019, it was confirmed that the club will enter the Russian Professional Football League in the 2019–20 season. On 15 May 2020, the 2019–20 PFL season was abandoned due to COVID-19 pandemic in Russia. FC Dynamo Makhachkala
FC Dynamo Makhachkala () is a Russian professional football club based in Makhachkala that plays in the Russian Premier League. History In the 2006 season Dynamo finished 16th in the Russian First Division. However, the club was denied the professional license and thus relegated to amateur level. Colours are all white (home) or white shirt with broad blue stripe, blue shorts (away). The club was founded in 1927 and debuted in the North Caucasus zone of the Soviet Group 3, finishing seventh of eight teams. FC Khimki
FC Khimki () was a Russian professional football club based in Khimki. History The team was formed in 1996 by merging two amateur clubs from Khimki, Rodina, and Novator. Khimki entered the amateur league and played their first official match on 17 May 1997. Of more than 150 amateur teams in the competition, only the champions would be promoted to the Third League. The 2024–25 Russian Premier League (known as the Mir Russian Premier League, also written as Mir Russian Premier Liga for sponsorship reasons) was the 33rd season of the premier football competition in Russia since the dissolution of the Soviet Union and the 23rd under the current Russian Premier League name.
