Anil is the founder and chairman of the National Cardiac Centre, established in Kathmandu in 2020 which conducts awareness activities with a primary focus on prevention.

Public Health Initiatives


Heart Camps

In 2014, he organized Nepal’s largest free heart camp, offering ECGs, echocardiograms, and blood tests to over 6800 people for early heart disease detection. It was funded by him and his friends; the camp cost 5 million rupees.


Largest research on Heart Diseases

He conducted one of Nepal’s largest studies on cardiovascular risk factors, surveying 5,530 healthy young adults in Kathmandu. The research, published in 2019 in the Journal of Nepal Health Research Council.


Training of Health professionals

He launched the Mission to Save Heart campaign to improve early heart attack care in Nepal by training health workers in ECG interpretation and use of clot-busting drugs. A 2.5 million rupee fund was organized to provide free life-saving medicines to poor patients.


Health Campaign

In 2024, he launched the ⁣⁣Smokers are not selfish campaign to promote quitting smoking by emphasizing its harm to others. The two-week campaign concluded on February 14, coinciding with Valentine’s Day and Vasant Panchami, with over 1,700 people quitting the habit.


Telemedicine Services

He offers telemedicine services for individuals facing financial or geographical barriers. Through phone and online consultations, patients—especially from remote areas can access essential medical care without needing hospital visits.


Author

In 2013, he wrote ''Ma Pani Doctor,'' "I Am Also a Doctor," a health guide to help the public prevent and manage non-communicable diseases, especially heart ailments. Launched by Nepal’s then-president on World Heart Day, over 5,000 free copies were distributed to those in need, boosting health awareness. His second book, Jiwanta Sambandha was released in September 2023.

* Guinness World Record for Heart Health Awareness (2023): On September 29, 2023, World Heart Day, he set a Guinness World Record with 11,212 live viewers for a 30-minute Facebook livestream on "Diagnosis of Hypertension," reflecting over a decade of public health work. * World Book of Records Recognition (2023): In March 2023, he was recognized by the World Book of Records for the "Longest Running Radio Interview" on heart disease prevention, based on 44 weekly sessions on Image FM from 2013 to 2014.

Anil is married to Manisha Baidar who is a nurse by profession. They have two children.
