DC Animated Universe

Nora's origin is in the episode " Heart of Ice", where she only appears as a cameo. In backstory revealed in the episode, Nora was married to Victor Fries, a GothCorp

researcher, but was diagnosed with a terminal illness. Victor uses the company's equipment to cryogenically freeze Nora until a cure can be found. However, GothCorp CEO Ferris Boyle cuts his funding and confronts Victor in the latter's laboratory to personally shut down the project, which leads to Victor being transformed into Mr. Freeze. Victor swears to avenge Nora and targets GothCorp. While she was left as presumed dead in "Heart of Ice", later events would bring her back. In the film '' Batman & Mr. Freeze: SubZero'', Victor is revealed to have retrieved Nora's chamber and brought it to an Arctic cave to keep her alive despite losing his funding and job. A submarine crew accidentally damages the chamber. Victor murders the crew before bribing an old colleague into helping him kidnap
