The film began production in 2010 under the title ''Nagarpuram'' and was supposed to mark Sri Divya's Tamil debut. The film was shot in early 2011 near Vijayakumar's Chennai house. The film remained unreleased despite reports that the film would release in September 2013 alongside a Telugu dubbed version. In 2014, the producers of the film complained to
