Millicent or Milicent is a feminine given name that has been in use since the Middle Ages. The English form ''Millicent'' derives from the Old French '' Melisende'', stemming from the Germanic name ''Amalasuintha'' ( from ''amal'' meaning, "work" and ''swinth'' meaning, "strength").
