In 2014 Kate Beecroft (subsequently known as Kate Costain) was elected Leader of the Liberal Vannin Party, with Karran saying it "was time for a change". In 2020, Costain resigned and Lawrie Hooper MHK was elected as her replacement. He is now the only LibVan MHK.
