journalist and writer. Author and editor of several books, in addition to being a regular columnist for a number of English-language Pakistani newspapers, he is best known for his translations of the short stories of Saadat Hasan Manto and the poems of Faiz Ahmed Faiz.

Khalid Hasan as well as the rest of the family migrated from Jammu to Pakistan during the 1947 communal violence.
