in July 1999. He played a major part in the success of the Doncaster Rovers youth team in the 1999–00 and 2000–01 seasons, and signed a full-time professional contract in the summer of 2001. He broke into the first team in the 2001–02 season, making 17 league and cup appearances, but an injury suffered in November 2002 meant he missed the remainder of the 2002–03 season and in August 2003, he joined
