Bradford (Park Avenue) A.F.C.
Bradford (Park Avenue) Association Football Club, sometimes abbreviated as BPA AFC, is an association football club based in Bradford, West Yorkshire, England. The team currently competes in , at the eighth tier of the English football league system. The name derived from their former home at Park Avenue, and was used to avoid confusion with Bradford derby rivals Bradford City. The club was founded in 1907 and moved from the Southern League into the Football League the next year. They were promoted into the First Division at the end of the 1913–14 season, but suffered consecutive relegations by 1922. They won the Third Division North title in 1927–28 and remained in the Second Division until 1950. Promoted from the Fourth Division in 1960–61, the club were relegated from the Third Division in 1963. Horsfall Stadium
Horsfall Community Stadium is a sports stadium just off Halifax Road in Bradford, West Yorkshire, England, south-west of the city centre. It is the home of Bradford (Park Avenue) A.F.C. Albion Sports A.F.C. and West Bowling ARLFC Originally built as a running track in 1931, it was upgraded for football in 1996 when Bradford (Park Avenue) moved to the stadium and the track was upgraded to a synthetic surface at the same time. History Horsfall was officially opened on 5 September 1931 by Alderman S Horsfall JP who was chairman of the parks and cemeteries committee. It was originally opened as a running track in 1931 hosting athletics and a base for Airedale Harriers AC (later to become Bradford Airedale AC). North West Counties Football League
The North West Counties Football League is a association football, football league in the North West England, North West of England. Since 2019–20, the league has covered the Isle of Man, Cheshire, Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Merseyside, Cumbria, northern Staffordshire, northern Shropshire, the far west of West Yorkshire, and the High Peak, Derbyshire, High Peak area of Derbyshire. In the past, the league has also hosted clubs from North Wales such as Caernarfon Town F.C., Caernarfon Town, Colwyn Bay F.C., Colwyn Bay, and Rhyl F.C., Rhyl. Bradford Northern
The Bradford Bulls are a professional rugby league club in Bradford, West Yorkshire, England, and compete in the Championship, the second tier of British rugby league. The club have won the League Championship six times, the Challenge Cup five times and three World Club Challenge titles. They have also won many smaller things such as The RFL Yorkshire Cup 11 times. Park Avenue (Cricket/Football Ground)
Park Avenue is a sports ground on Horton Park Avenue in Bradford, West Yorkshire, England that has been used for cricket, football and both codes of rugby. Yorkshire regularly played cricket matches at the ground between 1881 and 1996, while the site was also home to former Football League club Bradford (Park Avenue), to which it lent its name. The cricket pitch remains intact, but the adjoining football stadium has been demolished and replaced with a gym and cricket nets. The 1905–06 Challenge Cup was the 10th staging of rugby league's oldest knockout competition, the Challenge Cup. The final was contested by Bradford F.C. and Salford at Headingley, Leeds in front of a crowd of 15,834 on Saturday 28 April 1906. Bradford won the Cup in their first appearance in the final by a score of 5-0. Intermediate round The intermediate, or qualifying, round matches were played on 17 February 1906. 1903–04 Northern Rugby Football Union Season
The 1903–04 Northern Rugby Football Union season was the ninth season of rugby league football. Season summary The League Champions were Bradford and the Challenge Cup Winners were Halifax. Keighley and Huddersfield were demoted from the top division and replaced by Wakefield Trinity (champions) and St. Helens. As the top two teams had finished level on points and Points Difference had not been introduced as a tie breaker yet, despite having a worse points difference, Bradford contested a play-off with Salford, that Bradford won 5-0. In the Second Division, Manningham and Stockport were replaced by Pontefract, reducing the competition to 17 teams. Birkenhead Wanderers dropped the Wanderers from their name. The history of rugby league as a separate form of rugby football goes back to 1895 in Huddersfield, West Riding of Yorkshire when the Rugby Football League, Northern Rugby Football Union broke away from England's established Rugby Football Union to administer its own separate competition.
