Fourth suspension

Ben Saddik was suspended for 10-months for his violations of the anti-doping rules as a result of his positive sample collected out-of-competition on 19 February 2024. Ben Saddik tested positive for

and its metabolite. The sample was analyzed at a WADA accredited laboratory. The Anti-Doping Committee determined that a reduction from the default 12-month sanction was appropriate because Ben Saddik provided sufficient evidence that his use of clomifene was pursuant to a valid prescription from a physician to treat symptoms and his use occurred prior to the new ruleset going into effect. Ben Saddik’s period of ineligibility began on 6 March 2024 and he will be eligible on 6 January 2025.


Return

After two and a half years of absence, on February 22, 2025, Ben Saddik was scheduled to face Uku Jürjendal at Glory 98 at RTM Stage in Rotterdam, Netherlands. Personal life

In 2012, he was diagnosed with

, which would emerge again around a year later. Then, Ben Saddik was cancer-free for a good decade, until in 2024 he was diagnosed with cancer again and underwent a surgery.


Legal troubles

His lawyer emphasized though that the arrest of Jamal Ben Saddik has nothing to do with the trade in or possession of prohibited substances such as cocaine (Operation Sky). On March 12, 2021, the Mechelen Council Chamber ordered Ben Saddik to be jailed for 30 days. His attorney immediately filed an appeal.
