Geography

Gohad has an average elevation of 159 metres (521 feet). It is drained by Vaisali River which is a tributary of Sindh River and originate from Behat village in Gwalior region. Rural nallahs and Morar river (Kalpi River) are catchments of Vaisali River. It features a high standing Gohad Dam which holds a fascinating view during Monsoon. The water of Gohad dam is supplied to Gohad town for drinking purpose.


Climate

Climate of Gohad is characterized by dryness except during south-west monsoon. It's is counted as most dry place in Madhya Pradesh.

Gohad is a big tehsil, its area and population all are as per the eligibility of a district, the local people keep raising demand to make Godhad the district headquarters. For which a memorandum has been submitted to the Chief Minister. Malanpur industrial area is located in Gohad itself, which provides it economic strength, there is a demand to create a new district by combining Gormi, Mau, Porsa and Gohad tehsils.
