On 6 October 2022, it was confirmed that Widdop had signed for the

season as the club finished 11th on the table narrowly avoiding relegation. On 18 October 2023, the Tigers announced that Widdop would depart the club by mutual consent, with Widdop later confirming his retirement from professional rugby league.
