Early career

Bugge Pettersen started his career in the local clubs
Tønsberg FK Tønsberg Fotballklubb is a Norwegian association football club from Tønsberg, Vestfold. It was founded in 1985 as a merger between the football sections of Tønsbergs TF and IF Tønsberg-Kameratene. The team has played on the fourth or fift ...
and Eik-Tønsberg, and moved to Sandefjord Fotball before the 2002season. In the nine seasons he played in Sandefjord, he played 240 of 250 possible league matches.


Molde

On 31 July 2010, it was announced that Bugge Pettersen was sold from Sandefjord to
