The village of Erdmannhausen became a possession of the Prince-Bishop of Speyer in 972, but would pass from the to the County of Calw-Löwenstein, and then to the

. The Counts Württemberg began acquiring more and more of the village until it fully came under their control in 1425. From the 15th century to 1938, Erdmannhausen was assigned to the district of
Marbach am Neckar Marbach am Neckar (, ) is a town about 20 kilometres north of Stuttgart. It belongs to the district of Ludwigsburg, the Stuttgart region and the European metropolitan region of Stuttgart. Marbach is known as the birthplace of Friedrich Schiller ...
, which was dissolved and replaced by Landkreis Ludwigsburg.
