Taxonomy

The family '' Goussia'' forms a trichotomy with the ''Eimeriidae'' and '' Sarcocystidae''. The biliary Eimeria-like coccidia of reptiles are classified into the genus '' Choleoeimeria'' and form a sister clade to the family ''Eimeriidae''.
