Artistry

Dagny often utilizes a pop music technique known as one-note melodies, created by having one note surrounded by various harmonies, to construct catchy songs. Dagny states her musical preference falls around "pop songs with a little bit of an indie, left of center vibe." and that her upbringing in northern Norway has influenced her approach to both music and life, being "tough on the outside but warmhearted on the inside." Dagny stated that during the song writing process she asks herself: "What do I have to say? What do I have to tell?", saying that it is important for her songs to have meaning.
