Levin was born on March 12, 1949, in Chicago, Illinois, U.S. He was an American actor and appeared in television, movies and on stage. Levin appeared as a guest star on many television shows including ''Alice'' and was best known for the role of Elliot Novak. He was Jewish. Levin married Katherine DeHetre in 1983. Together, they had three children: Jesse, Ben, and Kate. His wife, Kate, died in a car accident on December 29, 2007.
