On December 9, 2014, Clear Sky Radio received approval from the

(CRTC) to operate a new English language radio station in Strathmore, Alberta. The new station would operate at 104.5 MHz (channel 283B1) with an average effective radiated power (ERP) of 2,800 watts (maximum ERP of 7,000 watts with an effective height of antenna above average terrain of 101.5 metres). Clear Sky noted Golden West's experience with small-market stations, and stated that economic conditions had prevented it from fully realizing its plans for the market. The station officially launched September 27, 2018 as ''104.5 More Country'', with the call letters CKOV-FM. In 2019, the remaining stake in the station was sold to Golden West. In March 2020, its call letters were changed to CKMR-FM; the CKOV calls returned to their heritage market of
