The order was headed by Muhammad Azeem Barkhiya until he died in 1980, and then by Khwaja Shamsuddin Azeemi until his death in February 2025. Waqar Yusuf Azeemi is the current and third head of the order, succeeding Khwaja Shamsuddin Azeemi.
