and is of Polish Jewish descent. After living a few years in Paris, she returned to Montréal where she studied at Collège international Marie de France, McGill University and Université de Montréal.

She was nominated for three awards at the Juno Awards of 2020, 2020 Juno Awards, for Juno Award for Album of the Year, Album of the Year, Juno Award for Breakthrough Artist of the Year, Breakthrough Artist of the Year, and Juno Award for Instrumental Album of the Year, Instrumental Album of the Year.
