In 2016 the Municipality retired its financial support and Sport Club withdrew from the second league, then being bought by Cristian Postolache and merging with his club, Gauss Răcăciuni, changing its name in Gauss Bacău and therefore signing up for the

First years and ascension

Gauss Bacău was founded in 2006 under the name of ''Mesagerul Bacău'', project started at the initiative of a group of football lovers, a group of friends who used to play

and decided to play at a more organized level. Sports activities started during the 2006–07 competitive season when ''Mesagerul Bacău'' was enrolled in the

and the team had surprisingly good results managing to qualify for the
