Loona yyxy (an abbreviation for ''Youth youth by young'') is the third sub-unit of the South Korean girl group Loona, formed through a pre-debut project titled ''"Girl of the Month"''. The unit consisted of 4 members, Yves, Go Won, Chuu and HyeJu (formerly Olivia Hye). Currently the unit consists in 3 members, without Chuu, who was removed from Loona and consequently the lineup in November 2022. They debuted with their first extended play titled '' Beauty & the Beat'' on May 30, 2018. They were the last sub-unit to debut with the pre-debut project, before the group debuted as a whole with their extended play titled '' +'. Loona (stylized in all caps or as LOOΠΔ; ; , ) is a South Korean girl group created by Blockberry Creative. The group is composed of eleven members: Heejin, Hyunjin, Haseul, Vivi, Yeojin, Kim Lip, Jinsoul, Choerry, Yves, Go Won, and HyeJu. Originally a twelve-member group, Chuu was removed from the line-up on November 25, 2022, due to a contract dispute. The remaining members of the group departed Blockberry Creative later that year, putting the group on an indefinite hiatus. Kim Ji-woo (, born October 20, 1999), known professionally by her stage name Chuu (), is a South Korean singer, actress and television personality. She is a former member of the South Korean girl group Loona and its sub-unit, yyxy. ''Beauty & the Beat'' (stylized as beauty&thebeat) is the debut extended play by Loona yyxy, a sub-unit of South Korean girl group Loona. It was released on May 30, 2018, by Blockberry Creative. The album consists of five tracks and features Canadian singer Grimes. The unit consisted of four members: Yves, Chuu, Go Won, and HyeJu (formerly Olivia Hye). In November 2022, Chuu was removed from the girl group Loona and consequently from the unit. Promotion and release The group began teasing the album on May 10, 2018, and continued releasing photos of the group and individual members, along with image teasers of each track, during the following weeks. Blockberry Creative (; stylized as BlockBerry Creative) was a South Korean record label formed in 2016. It was a subsidiary of Polaris Entertainment. The label previously managed soloist Sunye, and the girl group Loona. History Blockberry Creative was officially established on March 22, 2016, as a subsidiary label of Polaris Entertainment.
