XDT
xDT (aka KVDT) is a family of data exchange formats that are used by physicians and health care administration in Germany. They were created by initiative of the ''Kassenärztliche Bundesvereinigung'' (National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians - NASHIP). An electronic health record (EHR) is the systematized collection of electronically stored patient and population health information in a digital format. These records can be shared across different health care settings. Records are shared through network-connected, enterprise-wide information systems or other information networks and exchanges. Data exchange is the process of taking data structured under a ''source'' schema and transforming it into a ''target'' schema, so that the target data is an accurate representation of the source data.
