Third Andreotti Government
The Andreotti III Cabinet was the 33rd cabinet of the Italian Republic. It held office from 1976 to 1978. It was the first government in the history of the Italian Republic to count among its members a woman, Tina Anselmi (as Minister of Labour). The government obtained the confidence in the Senate (Italy), Senate on 6 August 1976, with 136 votes in favor, 17 against and 69 abstentions, and in the Chamber of Deputies (Italy), Chamber of Deputies on 9 August 1976, with 258 votes in favor, 44 against and 303 abstentions. Senate (Italy)
The Senate of the Republic (), or simply the Senate ( ), is the upper house of the bicameral Italian Parliament, the lower house being the Chamber of Deputies. The two houses together form a perfect bicameral system, meaning they perform identical functions, but do so separately. Pursuant to the Articles 57, 58, and 59 of the Italian Constitution, the Senate has 200 elective members, of which 196 are elected from Italian constituencies, and 4 from Italian citizens living abroad. Franco Foschi (28 June 1931 – 17 August 2007) was an Italian surgeon, writer and politician. Biography After his high school studies, he enrolled in the faculty of medicine and was particularly interested in neurology and diseases of the nervous system; he was the author of numerous publications in this field and became chief physician and director of mental health services in the province of Ancona; he was also interested in the conditions of workers and was professor of Occupational Medicine in Urbino in his last years of life. Arnaldo Forlani
Arnaldo Forlani (; 8 December 1925 – 6 July 2023) was an Italian politician who served as the Prime Minister of Italy from 1980 to 1981. He also held the office of Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Minister of Defence. A member of the right-wing faction of the Christian Democracy (DC) party, Forlani was one of the most prominent Italian politicians from the 1970s to early 1990s. He led the DC party on two occasions: between 1969 and 1973, and between 1989 and 1992.
