Larry Gatlin & the Gatlin Brothers are an American country music vocal group. The group consists of lead singer Larry Gatlin (born May 2, 1948) and his brothers, Rudy and Steve Gatlin. The group achieved considerable success within the country music genre, performing on 33 top 40 country singles. The group is known for Larry's tenor voice and for the country songs that they recorded in the 1970s and 1980s. Some of Gatlin's greatest hits include " Broken Lady", "All the Gold in California", " Houston (Means I'm One Day Closer to You)", "She Used to Be Somebody's Baby" and "Night Time Magic". During this time, country music trended toward slick pop-music arrangements in a style that came to be known as Countrypolitan. Seminole, Texas
Seminole is a city in and the county seat of Gaines County, Texas, United States. Its population was 6,430 at the 2010 United States Census, 2010 census. Seminole and Gaines County are home to a large population of Russian Mennonites, Low German Mennonites from Russia that came to West Texas in the 1980s. It is the birthplace of country music singers Larry Gatlin and Tanya Tucker. History The land for Seminole was donated by nonresident landowners to become the county seat for Gaines County. In 1906, the first move to Seminole was made by W. B. Austin and his wife Emma, who moved their general store there, which was located in Caput, Texas. During this time, several post offices found a new home in Seminole. Seminole National Bank opened its doors in 1906, followed by First State Bank in 1907.
