Oklou
Marylou Vanina Mayniel (born 23 April 1993), better known by her stage name Oklou (pronounced "Okay Lou"; ˈəʊkeɪ 'luː), is a French musician from Poitiers. Her debut mixtape ''Galore'' was released in 2020, which was followed up by her debut album '' Choke Enough'' in 2025. Early life Marylou Mayniel was born on 23 April 1993, in Poitiers, France. Mayniel grew up in the countryside of western France with her two parents and an older brother. She was classically trained in piano and cello and sang in choirs as a child. Her brother would bring home CDs from the local library, exposing her to artists such as Dälek. The first album she bought was by Gorillaz. Choke Enough
''Choke Enough'' (stylised in all lowercase) is the debut studio album by French musician, singer and producer Oklou. It released on 7 February 2025, via True Panther Sounds. The album features guest appearances by Swedish rapper and singer Bladee, and American musician Underscores. It was supported by the singles "Family and Friends", " Harvest Sky", the title track, " Take Me by the Hand", and "Blade Bird". Similarly to her 2020 mixtape ''Galore'', ''Choke Enough'' was made primarily in collaboration with Canadian musician Casey MQ. The album took Oklou two and a half years to finish, and explores "the quest of meaning". Salvador Navarrete (born 16 February 1992), better known by his stage name Sega Bodega, is an Irish-Chilean music producer, singer, songwriter, DJ, and co-head/founder of the record label and collective Nuxxe. Sega Bodega is known for his futuristic, bass-heavy and leftfield take on electronic and club music, fusing various elements of UK bass and hip-hop music, deconstructed club, and trip hop music into his songs. "Fever" is a song by English and Albanian singer Dua Lipa and Belgian singer Angèle from the French edition of the former's second studio album, '' Future Nostalgia'' (2020). The song was written by the singers alongside Caroline Ailin, Jacob Kasher Hindlin, Julia Michaels and the sole producer Ian Kirkpatrick. It was originally intended to be placed on the standard edition of the album as a solo version by Lipa. The song was released for digital download and streaming on 29October 2020, through Warner Records as a single. True Panther Sounds (TPS) is an independent record label founded by Dean Bein in San Francisco in 2004. The label eventually moved to New York, and was acquired by Matador Records of Beggars Group in 2009, remaining under that umbrella until 2017. The label has worked with artists of various genres, including notable acts such as ABRA, Celeste, Glasser, Girls, King Krule, Tobias Jesso Jr., Shlohmo, and Slowthai. Rough Trade is a retail chain of record shops in the United Kingdom and the United States with headquarters in London. The first Rough Trade shop was opened in 1976 by Geoff Travis in the Ladbroke Grove district of West London. Travis reportedly took the name from the Canadian art punk/new wave music, new wave band Rough Trade (band), Rough Trade.
