n-tv (styled ntv) is a German free-to-air television news channel owned by RTL Deutschland. n-tv broadcasts news and weather every hour and half-hour in the morning. It also broadcasts magazine shows and documentaries. History n-tv began as a business development project at Time Warner International which, under the leadership of then-chairman Steve Ross, was looking for ways to grow its businesses internationally. Time Warner at the time was a major shareholder in Turner Broadcasting System, parent company of CNN (both now part of Warner Bros. Discovery), and began looking for ways to get into the news channel business internationally. In 1991, under the direction of Tom McGrath, the then-president of Time-Warner International Broadcasting, the company developed a strategy for Austria, Germany, and the German-speaking areas of Switzerland. Lars Halter
Lars Halter (born November 29, 1973, in Rheinfelden, West Germany) is a German journalist, who has also worked in the U.S. As a journalist he covered Wall Street for German TV stations n-tv and Deutsche Welle in Berlin, where he is currently a reporter and producer. Early life Lars Halter attended the Gymnasium in Schopfheim and later Lörrach. He focused early on economical studies, while working as a journalist for local newspapers mostly covering political and cultural events. He continued to work as a journalist and photographer, when he was drafted into the German Bundeswehr. Halter served in the emergency headquarters, when his battalion was helping to fight the great flood of 1997 at the Oder River. RTL Crime (stylized as RTL CRIME since 15 September 2021) is a German pay television channel owned by the RTL Group. The channel was launched on 1 December 2006. Its programming is centred towards action and crime series. Distribution Since 1 October 2007, RTL Crime was launched on Sky Deutschland. RTL Passion (stylized as RTL PASSION) is a German pay television channel launched on 1 December 2006 and owned by RTL Group and Grundy UFA TV Produktions GmbH. Its programming is focused on female audiences with soap operas, telenovelas and television dramas. The channel gained a new logo and graphics package on 11 November 2015.
