''Machan'' is a 2008 Italian-Sri Lankan comedy film written, directed, and produced by Uberto Pasolini as his directorial debut about the made-up Sri Lankan National Handball Team that vanished in 2004. Background Based upon a true story, the film was shot on locations in Sri Lanka and Germany. The inspiration came from the actual case of the 2004 incident, where a fake Sri Lankan national handball team tricked its way into a German tournament, lost all of their matches, and subsequently vanished. Production spent several weeks speaking with people in the less fortunate areas of Colombo and used the people met through that research to create the backgrounds of the main characters. When director Uberto Pasolini heard of the incident, he stated "I fell in love with the story so much that I decided to shoot it myself". Sakthi N Chidambaram (born Dinakar), is an Indian film director, who directs Tamil films. Career His real name is C. Dhinakaran. He first wrote the dialogues for the films '' Kottai Vaasal'' (1992), '' Veettai Paaru Naattai Paaru'' (1994), '' Uzhiyan'' (1994) and '' Pathavi Pramanam'' (1994). Chidambaram made his directorial debut in 1997 with '' Samrat'', starring Ramki, a remake of Hindi film '' Baazigar''. In 1998, he directed the film ''Vettu Onnu Thundu Rendu'', starring Mansoor Ali Khan in the lead role. Both films were failures. M. L. Varghese (1960 – 3 February 2011), popularly known by stage name Machan Varghese, was a Malayalam film actor and mimicry artist. He started his career as a mimicry artist in Kalabhavan (house of arts) and debuted as an actor through ''Kabooliwala''. Thereafter he played many notable roles in Malayalam films, mainly as a comedian. His association with Siddique-Lal, Rafi-Mecartin and Lal Jose are particularly noted. Within a career of nearly two decades, he acted in over 100 films. Varghese died on 3 February 2011 in Kozhikode of cancer. He was aged 50. Education & Family M. L. St Machan
Machan or Machanus was a twelfth-century Scottish saint. He was educated in Ireland and was ordained as a bishop in Rome. He is known for his missionary work around Clachan of Campsie (or Campsie Glen), near Glasgow. Machan built a small chapel at the bottom of the glen. After his death, in 1175 a church was built over his grave. In 1859 there was a St. Machan's Well at Campsie, but no trace now remains. Most information about St Machan is lost. Dalserf
Dalserf is a small village of only a few streets in South Lanarkshire, Scotland. It lies on the River Clyde, east of Larkhall and south east of Hamilton. Dalserf is also a traditional civil parish. It includes Ashgill, Larkhall, Netherburn, Rosebank and Shawsburn. The parish has a population of 17,985 (mostly from Larkhall's near 15,500 population).
