Kigwancha
Kigwancha Sports Club or Kigwancha Sports Team (; ), known as Sinuiju Locomotive Sports Club is a North Korean multi-sports club belonging to the Korean State Railway and based in Sinuiju. It was established on 11 January 1956, and has been awarded the Order of Kim Il-sung and the Order of the National Flag (First Class). The club is best known for its men's and women's football teams. Kigwancha's men presently play in the DPR Korea Premier Football League, and won several championships in the late 1990s. The club finished third in the 2006 season. They have taken part in continental competition once, finishing second in its group in the group stage of the 2017 AFC Cup. Sinuiju Stadium
The Sinuiju Stadium (신의주경기장), also known as October Stadium (10월 경기장), is a multi-purpose stadium in Sinŭiju, North Korea, that is mainly used for events and football matches of the kigwancha. Korean Central News Agency
The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) () is the state news agency of North Korea. The agency portrays the views of the North Korean government for both domestic and foreign consumption. It was established on December 5, 1946, and now features online coverage. Organization KCNA works under the Korean Central Broadcasting Committee, through which it is ultimately controlled by the Workers' Party of Korea's Propaganda and Agitation Department. In December 1996, KCNA began publishing its news articles on the Internet with its web server located in Japan. Since October 2010, stories have been published on a new site, controlled from Pyongyang, and output has been significantly increased to include world stories with no specific link to North Korea as well as news from countries that have strong DPRK ties. 2017 Hwaebul Cup
The 2017 Hwaebul Cup was the fifth edition of the Hwaebul Cup (홰불, ''Torch'') football competition, celebrating North Korea's Youth Day. The competition was held between 27 July and 28 August 2017, with all matches played at the Rungrado 1st of May Stadium in P'yŏngyang. The competition was arranged in two phases, a group stage followed by a single-elimination play-off semi-finals, and a single-game final. Sobaeksu Sports Club won the competition for the first time, as the defending champion, April 25, were not entered into the competition due to their taking part in the 2017 AFC Cup. Ryŏmyŏng finished second, whilst Hwaebul and Kigwancha placed third and fourth respectively. The 2015 Hwaebul Cup was the third edition of the Hwaebul Cup (홰불, ''Torch'') celebrating North Korea's Youth Day. Hwaebul Cup
The Hwaebul Cup (홰불, ''Torch'') is an annual association football competition in men's Football in North Korea, domestic football in North Korea. It is organised by the DPR Korea Football Association, the governing body of football in North Korea. The competition is held for Youth Day, 28 August, one of North Korea's major holidays. Competition format Beginning in July or August, the competition proceeds in two stages. Statistics of DPR Korea Football League in the 2016 season. Overview The Highest Class Football League champions was Kigwanch'a, with April 25 and Amrokkang finishing second and third respectively. Unusually, the competition was played with a play-off format to decide the championship. Ryŏmyŏng made their Highest Class League debut. Eight teams advanced to the quarter-finals; the only results known are that on 25 October Kigwancha beat Hwaebul 2–1, and Amrokkang defeated Sobaeksu 3–1; both these matches were played at Sŏsan Stadium in P'yŏngyang.
