Gota patti or gota work is a type of embroidery originating in Rajasthan, India. It uses the applique technique, and patterns are created by sewing pieces of zari ribbon onto fabric. Zari
Zari () is an even thread traditionally made of fine gold or silver used in traditional Indian, Bangladeshi and Pakistani garments, especially as brocade in saris etc. This thread is woven into fabrics, primarily silk, to make intricate patterns and elaborate designs of embroidery called '' zardozi''. Bandhani is a type of tie-dye textile decorated by plucking the cloth with the fingernails into many tiny bindings that form a figurative design. Today, most Bandhani making centers are situated in Gujarat, Rajasthan, Sindh, Punjab region and in Tamil Nadu where it is known as '' Sungudi''. It is known as ''chunri'' in Pakistan.
